What is it that makes the GFCA training so powerful?

GFCA provides a real education for people who are fascinated by acting and storytelling. We train the mind, the body and the heart, in a friendly and inclusive environment that is both rigorous and intense. Our expert coaches focus on your unique qualities, to expand your skills, range and potential as an actor in order to achieve transformational performance.
Come and train to be an actor or actor-director at GFCA.

We take a maximum of 16 actors each year for our successful Advanced Intensive Acting / Actor-Director Diploma programmes. We look for creative and motivated individuals who seek a top-level, intensive and progressive training to stimulate the mind and the imagination; who want to enter the industry for the first time, or to invigorate their profile with an enhanced skillset.

The training is challenging, stimulating, revelatory!  Our top professional coaches provide high-quality training: core acting methods including those of Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen and Sandford Meisner; the work of Rudolph Laban and Yat Malmgren - Character Analysis or Movement Psychology; acting, movement and voice classes throughout the entire programme; with increasingly specialised in-depth coaching provided for each project, and intensive rehearsals leading up to regular in-house and public performances.

We are the leading centre for Character Analysis & Movement Psychology.  This powerful acting method was developed by Yat Malmgren & Christopher Fettes, joint founders of Drama Centre London - Giles Foreman’s teachers - and familiar to all their students, including Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Colin Firth, Lambert Wilson, Helen McCrory, Simon Callow, John Simm, Tom Hardy, Ryan Gage, Gwendoline Christie, Michael Fassbender - and many other prominent actors working today.

The programme is designed in 3 linked units, allowing time for personal projects between units. We also offer a separate top-up / summation Term to extend the training, designed for graduates from our London and Paris advanced courses, and also from other institutions, which runs between the end of April and mid-July each year.

GFCA maintains excellent links with the Industry both in the UK and Internationally. We are proud to be a member of the Spotlight Graduate scheme, which is only available to actors graduating from well-established drama-schools.

After the training concludes, we maintain contact with many of our graduated students through our alumni membership, providing ongoing advice and support. As GFCA alumni build their careers, we continue to support them as they prepare for their post-training opportunities in Film, TV and on Stage.

We have an excellent and growing track-record as our actor-graduates have already achieved many great industry successes, with series-regular roles in popular TV series (BBC, ITV, Paramount+, Netflix, Apple TV and online etc) and in high-profile feature films - also appearing on stage with the Royal Shakespeare company; at the National Theatre; in the West End, and at the Barbican.

Increasingly, our alumni are motivated to develop their own initiatives, using skills they have acquired and developed during their training –  to write, to develop projects, to direct, and to produce their own films and live performances.
